May 21st, 2009 by Ed | No Comments | Filed in General

Optimizing web page content for increased profits is mandatory for any online business success. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is a natural traffic generating strategy that increases website business profits if done correctly without spending money on advertising.

SEO has the benefits of bringing in targeted traffic to your websites. These traffic/surfers, most of the time, are in a ready-to-buy mood as long as your products meet their needs.

In the first place, what is search engine optimization? SEO is a method of writing web page content that is search engine friendly by observing SEO rules but making the content human readable at the same time.

With the above said, let’s briefly look at the smart ways to optimize web page content for increased profits.

- You must target profitable keywords
- You must watch over your competitors’ shoulders
- You must build back links to your website.

Targeting Profitable Keywords

You and I know that the more targeted traffic a website attracts, the more sales and profits it makes. And one of the smartest ways to achieve targeted traffic is through organic search results. That is, surfers naturally finding you on the search engine result pages (SERPs) returned by search engine for the keyword/term surfers typed into the search box.

For you to achieve this objective successfully, you need to handpick best and profitable keywords after due diligent keyword research.

These are keywords surfers are typing into the search box to locate the information they are looking for.

However, the search terms a webmaster decides to use on his web page content should be a high search term with low competition. That is the supply (competition) and demand (searches) sides of the equation must be matched before pursuing a keyword phrase(s) to use.

With the level of competition on the internet for any search term, it is more profitable to pursue long tail keywords than generic or common words.

If you are just starting out in your SEO quest, there are paid and free research tools to try out.

The paid research tool I will recommend is:

Keyword Elite.

Though the free research tools are equally good, the numbers of searches returned are limited. It doesn’t dig deeper to locate profitable keywords.

The free good keyword research tools are:

Google Keyword Tool External
Free Keywords WordTracker
SEO Book

You can use these tools to optimize your web page content.

How to Grow Rich with Internet Marketing

May 20th, 2009 by Ed | No Comments | Filed in Internet Marketing

Internet marketing is the fastest and easiest way to make a steady income online because you are not tied to stocking products, shipping product, handling orders, attending to customers’ complaints, handling money and all of that, you can concentrate your time and energy to advertising and marketing.

What is Internet Marketing?

First, understand that most of the time, internet marketing or affiliate marketing is used interchangeably. It is an online marketing activity of a virtual sales representative, otherwise known as an affiliate, geared towards getting the product or service of the product owner (otherwise known as the merchant) to prospects in order to make sale and earn commission thereof.

An affiliate or internet marketer carries out his marketing activities on behalf of the merchant at his own expense. The product owner only pays commission to the affiliate marketer when a sale is made or completed.

In other words, affiliate marketing is performance based; no sales, no commission.

As you can see from the foregoing, internet marketing is more or less a joint venture between a virtual marketer and a merchant. However, the merchant is always ready to help his affiliates succeed since it directly grows his profits base.

On that note, merchants are willing to provide free marketing training and tools for affiliates. These include providing affiliate banners, link codes, email marketing letters, templates, etc which the marketers can use on their websites, marketing campaigns and the like.

The question now is how can an affiliate marketer grow rich in this aspect of internet business? The following tips will help.

Treat Affiliate Marketing as a Business

That is to say, as an affiliate, you should acquire all the necessary training, tools and paraphernalia of the trade. These will include:

A domain name
A website
Web hosting
An autoresponder
Content creation

With these tools, prospects and surfers who come in contact with you will have a high perceived value about your internet business. That will earn you instant trust and credibility which are crucial to online business success.

Market Two or More Affiliate Products

While it is important to establish yourself with a product or service when starting out, it may be pretty difficult to grow rich selling only one product.

For an internet marketer to be successful, he needs to pick two or more complementary products to sell.

An example that fits my description is picking and advertising website design package/templates with web hosting service plus an autoresponder service.

Advertising or Marketing is Everything

Constantly getting the message of your product or service in front of your prospects will more than likely turn the tide in your for favor in your marketing campaigns.

You will make more sales than an inactive or armchair internet marketer. In internet marketing, the saying: “Out of sight is out of mind” holds true always.

An internet marketer should endeavor to employ all advertising means to get the message of his product across to his prospects. It doesn’t hurt; rather it pays!

Some of the marketing methods you should consider are:

Classified adverts
Email marketing
Article marketing
Pay per click (PPC)
Social book marking
Social networking
Joint venture
Links exchange
Search engine optimization
Forum posting
Blog commenting

Just name it. The list of marketing methods is not exhaustive. Some marketing methods are creative and ingenious while others are long term and short term.

All in all, internet marketing has come to stay as a major platform of successfully conducting an online business. And you can grow rich through internet marketing if you do it professionally.

But then, this Internet Marketing Guide will go a long way in making you miles ahead of others in internet marketing business.

How to Buy Parked Domain Names

May 19th, 2009 by Ed | No Comments | Filed in Domain Name Tips

Parked domain names are names that have been registered by a registrant but having no permanent website built for it yet. I am using the phrase ?permanent website? because parked domain names will always have a temporal web page displaying adverts served by either parking company or by the registrar.

It is instructive to note that there are two ways domain names are parked. It could be parked with a parking company when domain names entrepreneurs or speculators have no immediate use for their names. What this translates to is that the parking company will provide a pre-built web page for a domain parked with them and automatically serve adverts on the web page.

Revenue accrues to domain owners any time a surfer visits the page and clicks on the advert links that are on the page. The parking income derived from such transaction is shared between the parking company and the owner of the parked domain name. The adverts served on this web page are adverts from third parties or companies who are promoting their businesses.

Another way of parking domain is the service provided by the registrar. Registrar is the company that registers domain names while registrant is the owner of the registered domain name. This method of parking is usually with a web page having a message stating that “this website is under construction,” “this domain name is for sale,” or something similar.

Now, the question is: “How do you buy parked domain names?” It is by approaching the registrant or owner for sale. You can go about this either by:

1. Going through the parking company if it is parked with the company for sale, or
2. Looking up the Whois information of the registrant and contacting him directly via email for an outright sale.

However, be aware that buying parked domain names is always expensive. The holder who desires to sell such name is either a speculator or a domain entrepreneur. Either of them would wish to maximize their profits from you who want to buy parked domain name. To this end, doing such business at arm’s length means you are going to cough out small fortune to buy it.

Except you are desperate to acquire this name for reason of branding and wider customer reach, it is always advisable to check for the availability of other similar names not yet registered. For registration fee of $10 or less you will register a domain name that is good enough for your business or may be even better.

To buy parked domain names, the present holder will be monetizing a whole lot of factors like the traffic the domain name is generating, the revenue accruing to it, marketability of the name, and so on.
